The Oregon City Festival of the Arts was a fantastic show! The vendors were treated so well by all of the volunteers and Festival organizers. The weather was pretty perfect......I would have melted if it had been 97 degrees! Yes to two cooler days and a nice breeze.
I really enjoyed meeting lots of people and see how my art really touches some people. Two of the highlights for me: 1. When a lovely woman said to me, "You're booth is the happiest booth in the show!' We then had a lovely conversation about my previous work as a pediatric palliative care nurse practitioner and her desire to become a hospice volunteer after observing hospice care for her mother. 2. A principal of an elementary school stated that they are planning on redoing all of the restrooms at their school with art and positive affirmations and wondered if I would be interested in painting some murals!! Full disclosure--I told her I have never painted a mural, but would definitely be interested in creating large pieces for the restrooms and that is part of my mission as an artist....to bring positivity to our world by creating art with positive affirmations, and to put that out into the universe to combat the negativity and hate that is ever present. I was so THRILLED and HONORED to be approached by her and am really hoping that she does, indeed, contact me. So exciting!!!
